Chihuahuas are a wonderful little breed. They are alert, will bark when some comes to the door. I have had many people ask
me if they are "yappie", i have never seen a chihuahua bark just to be barking. they range in size from 1 to 10 lbs, most
of mine are 4-5 lbs as adults, i occasionally get some that will be 3 lbs or less or 5 lbs or more. There are several loose
descriptions people use to describe Chihuahuas, first "teacup" there is no standard definition of a teacup chihuahua, second
is "applehead" this usually means a round bold head, but what i call an apple head some else may not. Third is "deer head"
or "deer leg" these again are loose descriptions, but longer legs usually go with the longer pointed snout.I try to give adult
weight estimates based on the pup, not the parent. I will first assign an estimated weight at about 6 weeks, then again at
8 weeks, as they age it is a little easier to narrow down the weight.Chihuahuas are very durable, they are not fragile as
some would think, and they have a long life expectancy. Many people how have ever owned one will be sure to have another.
